Find a Christian coffeehouse near you
From ChristianCoffeehouse.info - where Christian coffeehouse information begins

This page provides links to the Web sites of Christian coffee houses nationwide. (If there's not a coffeehouse listed near you, go here for help.)

What do we mean by "Christian coffeehouse"? Our discussion "What is a Christian coffeehouse?" explains. (Be aware that some of the venues listed below are explicitly oriented to youth. That may or may not be what you're looking for. Check a venue's Web site, to get a feel for its setup, before going any further.)

Before traveling to a coffeehouse listed here, try to contact the coffeehouse first, to make sure it's still in operation. Christian coffeehouses are very grass-roots things, and many have a very short lifespan; so no nationwide listing can be fully up-to-date. Furthermore, coffeehouse schedules can and do change with little or no notice. Check before you go.

In general, ChristianCoffeehouse.info does not know anything about these venues beyond what is stated on their Web sites. Listings do not imply endorsement. We've tried to restrict this list to Christian coffeehouses, but it is possible that other types of venues have slipped in (if so, please let us know). You are responsible for whatever use of these links you make. Use appropriate caution.

Artists: ChristianCoffeehouse.info cannot help you with bookings. We do not operate or control these venues - we only link to them. To request a booking at a specific coffeehouse, follow the instructions, or use the contact information, on that coffeehouse's Web site.

Adding a venue to this page

We will consider adding your venue to this page if:
  • It is a Christian coffeehouse. Read our discussion "What is a Christian coffeehouse?" for an explanation.
  • Your realistically-expected primary target audience goes beyond the boundaries of one church or denomination.
  • You feature live Christian music at least quarterly. (We understand that there are some Christian coffeehouses that do not feature live Christian music. However, in our opinion, live Christian music is an important part of a Christian coffeehouse.)
  • You feature only Christian music - not a mix of Christian and secular music. NOTE: "Family-friendly" isn't enough. "Mostly Christian" isn't enough. (If you feature both Christian and secular music, we respect that; but we want people who go to the venues listed here to know that the music they hear will be Christian.)
  • Live music at your venue is not limited to a "house" band. (We believe that an important part of coffeehouse ministry is providing opportunities for local Christian musical talent to play.)
  • Your venue avoids activities typically associated with church services, such as sermons/sermonettes, Bible studies, praise-and-worship time, etc. (In our experience, these activities generally are a turn-off to non-Christians, and detract from the ministry of relaxation and entertainment. The fact that a coffeehouse is operated by a church, and/or is located in church facilities, does not by itself disqualify the coffeehouse from a listing at all. But the inclusion of these or similar elements as part of the coffeehouse event itself, or immediately before or after and associated with the coffeehouse event, does disqualify it.)
  • You have an English-language Web site. (A Web page dedicated to the coffeehouse, as part of a larger Web site, is also OK, if all the information is on that page or easily accessible from that page, and not scattered around the rest of the larger site.)
  • Your Web site includes a schedule of which artists are booked to play, and when, and that schedule is kept up-to-date. NOTE: The lack of this schedule, or its being out of date, is the most frequent reason why we turn down listing requests. Make sure this is current before contacting us.
  • Your Web site includes the coffeehouse address (driving directions without an address are not sufficient), and also contact information by phone, e-mail, or both.
  • Your Web site does not require Internet Explorer to be usable. (We check sites using the free Opera Web browser.)
If your venue meets these conditions, please contact us to request a listing. No need to get fancy; a quick e-mail with the address of your venue's home page is sufficient. There is no charge to be listed. You don't have to be affiliated with a venue to request that it be listed.

We no longer list venues that are essentially concert series, even if they include "coffeehouse" in the name, even if they have a snack bar or something similar as an incidental side operation, or even if they have a separate coffeehouse-style fellowship time before or after the live music.

We do not automatically list everyone who requests it. We will study your venue's Web site. If we have follow-up questions, we will ask before listing your venue. It is only fair to our site visitors that we make some attempt to ensure that the venues we list really are Christian coffeehouses.

We list only venues with Web sites. If your coffeehouse does not have a Web site, it should. There are many companies that provide Web site hosting. Set up a Web site, then contact us. We have prepared a list of suggested information that should be on your Web site, but beyond that, we cannot assist you with issues related to Web site hosting or Web site design.

We require that your Web site have an up-to-date schedule, first because it should, and second because a no-longer-updated schedule is the easiest way for us to recognize that a venue is no longer in operation.

We list "supersites" - which provide combined listings for several coffeehouses in a city or area - only if they include artist schedules and other required information for each individual coffeehouse. Even if there is a "supersite" in your area that lists your schedules, you should still list them on your own site as well, for the convenience of those who are interested in your coffeehouse in particular.

All information we receive is our property, to use or not use in any way we see fit, without notice, without explanation, and without incurring any obligation. Whether or not we list your venue on this page is at our sole discretion. Our decisions are final.

Other information

We check all links periodically, and remove links that are broken, no longer appropriate, or not up-to-date. But you may find a problem link before we do. Please
contact us if you would like to report something that needs attention.

We have spent many hours compiling this list and keeping it updated. It is compilation-copyrighted. Please have the common courtesy and the honesty to respect our work. You are welcome to link to it, provided that you follow the restrictions listed on our legal-notices page. But do not even think of reproducing it, or any substantial portion, on your own Web site, or in any other medium, without advance permission - not even if you're non-profit. Do the right thing - the God-honoring thing - and simply link to us.
